The son of a boat builder, Brett spent most of his life in various sea-side towns and villages on the east coast of Australia eventually settling in Sydney. An avid surfer in his younger years, his teenage life was driven by what was an over-riding desire to challenge the ocean’s waves leading eventually to a need to settle down and focus on career through university study. On completion of his engineering degree, he was appointed Shipyard Manager, running the York Marine shipyard at Swan Bay on the Richmond River, Northern NSW.

This was the first major project Brett had taken on following his new appointment as Shipyard Manager. At 32m long, this all-aluminum luxury Charter Vessel was built to service the marlin fishing grounds off Cairns, in North Queensland as a mother ship to a game fishing boat for hire to fishing enthusiasts. Today, she is still sailing the open oceans and is available for charter.
